National Story-telling Week – How do businesses tell their story?
In celebration of National Story-telling Week, the team at MOB have been looking at how businesses tell their story, and the power this can bring to your brand.
Every business starts with an idea, often discovered on an early morning jog, late at night when you can’t sleep, in a crowded coffee shop chatting with friends, or with a good old-fashioned pen and paper. Telling your story and making your business relatable to your audience can build a sense of trust and connection to customers, allowing you to build a brand, not just the products or services you offer.
The most successful companies in the world have stories behind them that have been well advertised across the whole marketing industry, namely through social media and news press. For example; the story of Apple, started by two students with a vision to change the world and their need for a powerful computer that people could carry. Or, the story of Facebook, originally created in 2004 by a group of friends at Harvard University, with the aim of connecting fellow students together online. The application now boasts over 2.7 billion monthly users.
We at MOB have our own story; the concept was established by our CEO Caroline Coskry when she was on maternity leave. Already the CEO at successful property marketing agency The Oracle Group, Caroline could see there was opportunity to help small businesses realise what they need to market themselves. Quite often, SMEs know everything about their product / service but not so much about how to get to reach their audience. Understanding that SMEs don’t often have large budgets to spend, Caroline thought it would be a great opportunity to design more affordable packages and provide guidance for SMEs to give their marketing a boost.
Established fairly quickly and with a good client base cross sectors, our lovely MOB team is now realised and we are incredibly pleased to be here telling our story and helping others tell theirs.
